Kampala: frequently asked

Is Uganda worth visiting for gorillas?
Yes — Uganda offers mountain gorilla trekking at roughly a third of Rwanda's permit cost ($800 vs $1,500). Bwindi has over half the world's remaining mountain gorilla population.
How far is Bwindi from Kampala?
About 8–9 hours by road, or 1-hour flight to Kihihi airstrip. Most gorilla trekkers fly to save the overland journey.
What is Kampala like?
Chaotic, vibrant, hilly, and genuinely welcoming. Excellent rolex (Uganda's chapati egg roll street food), thriving music scene, and rapidly growing café culture.
