Canggu — the new Seminyak. Digital nomad capital of Asia. Excellent surf, cafés, coworking spaces, Batu Bolong beach.
Ubud — the cultural heart of Bali. Rice terrace walks (Tegalalang), monkey forest, traditional dance, yoga retreats, art galleries.
Uluwatu — Bali's best surf (Padang Padang, Bingin, Impossibles), clifftop temple, dramatic Indian Ocean views.
Sanur — calm, family-friendly east coast. Good for children, snorkelling, the fast boat to the Gili Islands.
Getting around Bali
Scooter hire (100,000–150,000 IDR/day) is the primary way locals move around. GoJek and Grab operate in most areas. Private drivers (250,000–400,000 IDR/half day) are excellent value for day trips. Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is in south Bali — 30 minutes to Seminyak, 2 hours to Ubud.
